Finding a new therapist can be daunting, intimidating and scary. Most people find themselves confused and overwhelmed during this process. General tips for finding a new therapist are below. If you'd like to become a client with Mary, Jenny or Jahrae:

• Place a phone call or email to your preferred therapist to ask questions, ask for a brief consult call, or ask to schedule.
• Your therapist will return your call or email with details about scheduling.
• Once you are an established client, you may use our online portal as your and your therapist agree to - as we all use it a bit differently.

• Shop your therapist. Ask for a brief consult call before scheduling or schedule a first session and feel free to not schedule again if you don't feel it's a fit.
• Ensure you are logistically a fit with your therapist - your schedules align for availability, they accept your insurance and you know the cost of sessions.
• You should feel seen, heard, and warmth from your therapist. You should feel like they "get you," really listened, and offer hope through their knowledge and skillset.
• Your therapist should remain professional at all times. This means you should have their full attention (they should not accept calls during your session time), the session should be focused on you (this means no "oversharing" from your therapist), and they should remain respectful to you with their words and behavior always.
